Smoky Tuna Bacon Burger

Steak house meets ocean as the flavors of smoky bacon and spicy jalapeno combine to create a savory and satisfactory burger. Sandwiched between a tender whole grain bun, these flavorful burgers are sure to please everyone at the table.

2 cans (5 oz) BUMBLE BEE® Prime Fillet® Albacore Tuna with Jalapenos & Olive Oil, drained and flaked

1 egg white

2 strips of turkey bacon or center-cut pork bacon, cooked and finely chopped

1/4 cup chopped onion

1/4 cup chopped mushrooms

1/8 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/4 cup whole wheat bread crumbs

2 teaspoons olive oil, divided

1/3 yellow onion, sliced

1 tomato, sliced

4 whole wheat hamburger buns


In a medium sized mixing bowl, stir together tuna, bacon, onion, and mushrooms. Stir the Worcestershire sauce and paprika into the egg white. Gently stir egg white mixture into the tuna until fully combined. Stir in breadcrumbs, cover bowl with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 20 minutes (or up to 1 hour), until mixture is firm enough to form into patties. Form mixture into 4 patties.

Coat a skillet with 1 teaspoon olive oil and saute the sliced onion over medium heat until golden and soft, about 5 minutes. Set onions aside. Coat the same skillet with remaining 1 teaspoon olive oil and fry patties over medium-high heat until golden brown on the outside and cooked through, about 3 minutes on each side. Serve each patty on a whole grain bun, with 1/4 of the onion mixture.
