Avocado Sardine Tartine

This recipe couldn’t be any simpler, or more delicious. The mild creaminess of avocado is a perfect pair with flavorful sardines and fresh lemon juice, while spicy chili flakes finish it off with a kick.

1 can (3.75 oz) Sardines in Oil, drained

1/2 ripe avocado

2 teaspoons lemon juice

1 tablespoon chopped green onion

1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes (or more to taste)

2 slices whole wheat bread


Lightly mash avocado and lemon juice together. Spread mashed avocado on each slice of whole wheat bread. Layer sardines on top and sprinkle with green onion and red pepper flakes. Garnish with a slice of lemon.

    I like this recipe, I’ve seen a similar recipe on cable but this is better because the other was very simple, just avocado and sardines on toast.
