Farfalle with Tuna Lemon Caper Sauce

Tuna, lemon, and capers meld perfectly to create a light and fresh sauce, while the dish gets just a kick of heat from red chili flakes. Serve with a side salad or steamed veggies for a well-balanced dinner.

1 can (5 oz) Prime Fillet® Tonno in Olive Oil
4 ounces dry whole grain bow tie (farfalle), linguini, or spaghetti pasta
2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1 tablespoon capers
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Zest of one lemon
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 medium red onion, chopped
Pinch chili pepper flakes
1/8 teaspoon salt, divided
1/4 cup dry white wine
2 tablespoons chopped flat leaf parsley
Freshly ground black pepper


Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package directions until cooked through, but still firm. While pasta is cooking, in a medium bowl, mix tuna with 1 tablespoon olive oil, capers, lemon juice, lemon zest, and garlic. Set aside. In a large saute pan, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and chili pepper flakes and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. Mix in the tuna from the bowl. Add wine, bring to a simmer, then lower the heat to low. Cook for 10 minutes. Drain pasta and add to the pan with tuna. Toss to mix. Add chopped parsley and black pepper to taste.
