Recipe for Smoked Caesar Salad with Halloumi Croutons

Prep Time: 10 mins | 2 Servings

Halloumi is a semi-hard cheese often made from sheep or goat’s milk. With its sturdy texture and its salty, tangy flavor, it makes for an extra unique crispy crouton in our smoky caesar salad featuring our Applewood Smoke tuna. No air fryer is no excuse to miss out on this creation. Simply fry up halloumi in a hot skillet instead. And because kale can hold up well, even when coated in dressing, this recipe is great for a make-ahead lunch.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 4oz halloumi cheese, cut into ½” cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 bunch lacinato kale, stems removed and roughly chopped
  • 1 pouch Bumble BeeⓇ Applewood Smoke Tuna
  • ⅓ cup prepared Caesar dressing
  • 8 cherry tomatoes, halved

Directions

Preheat air fryer to 375˚F. Spray air fryer basket with cooking spray.

In a small bowl, gently toss cheese with oil and transfer to basket. Cook until croutons are golden brown and crispy, 6-8 minutes.

Alternatively, in a small skillet over medium-high heat, warm oil and cook cheese until browned and crisp, 2-3 minutes per side.

In a large bowl, toss kale and dressing until well combined.

Divide salad between plates, then top with tuna, halloumi croutons, and tomatoes.
