Bumble Bee Foods Names Todd Putman as Executive Vice President and Chief Growth Officer

Industry veteran joins the leading seafood brand’s executive leadership team to fuel growth

SAN DIEGO (Sept. 24, 2018)Bumble Bee Foods, North America’s premium seafood company, today announced Todd Putman as the company’s executive vice president and chief growth officer. The addition highlights the company’s commitment to bolster its executive leadership team for continued long-term growth.

Putman is a veteran in the consumer products industry, bringing more than 25 years of experience to his role at Bumble Bee. He joins the executive leadership team from the Campbell Soup Company where he served as general manager of Campbell Fresh. Putman’s prior experience includes senior executive-level positions across sales, marketing and innovation at leading consumer brands, including Procter & Gamble, Walt Disney and The Coca-Cola Company.

“Todd is a proven leader with the industry experience to fuel Bumble Bee’s strategic growth initiatives,” said Jan Tharp, Bumble Bee interim chief executive officer. “He will play an instrumental role in developing and executing a successful strategy that will foster transformational change and sustained growth across every aspect of the organization.”

Bumble Bee is setting a strong path forward, evaluating consumer insights and cultural trends to reinvent its core business and support creative product innovations. The company is also engaging employees and a full spectrum of stakeholders to provide input on ways the organization can be more purposeful and effective in their mission.

Working collaboratively with leadership, Bulldog will help to reposition the organization for growth, build a compelling new vision and growth strategies that will guide the future of the business, develop a new product innovation pipeline that may include appropriate acquisitions and fuel a thriving company culture.

    i got 4 bumble bee cans and we eat this for long time years and years never has any issue and i like it and my wife love it
    today she call me and she say can you get some bumble bee coz im fasting im not cooking i say fine i went there to giant food and i got 4 cans
    so i was doing something then my wife was so mad and she say what you got look at this and that smelling kill me she open one can it has green spot with black and like mix rotten food and i say open the second can it was worse she get mad and throw everything even the one not open
    so i took everything outside and i called 1-800 # and talk to some lady she was very nice i told her what happen and she got my info and she ask me for pic if i can i say yes let me go out and take some pic so i went out i fund the cat eat most of it and i told her i have the other cans not open i can open and see if they have same she say yes and let us know we look at the xp date 2023 so she say someone will call you i say fine but my concern if some one buy this kind get sick and she say she contact some one asap so i call giant food and i explain everything and the she say bring them back and will give you refund i say my refund no big deal im worry if someone buy the rest they will get sick and i ent to the store and talk with her and she took pic of the can the one i have not open and i told her i need to open those and see if they are same bad she say fine let me know so i went home and i open the first one and you can see few black spot but not like the first one then i open the 2nd it was herbal you cant even stand the smelling so bad and i found black spot and some hard object like bone and i did fine like little over 1/2 sharp bone so all 4 cans was very bad i do have pictures and video to send if you like to see them sorry to tell you the bad news but its there and hope you guys can take thee rest of the store before some one get sick thanks

To that end, we’re continuing to run our factories in the US and Canada while our partners around the world continue to provide supply.

We take great pride in being a “people-first” company, so our decision to continue operations is done with utmost concern for the people making it possible. We’ve enhanced our safety measures to meet or exceed CDC guidelines and we have increased wages in our factories to assist employees dealing with the incremental costs of working and new, unexpected demands on their households.

We also take great pride in producing healthy, nutritious and safe products for our customers. Please know the manufacturing practices we follow year-round protect our both employees and the products they produce. Our facilities have very few people-to-product interactions, all products are sterilized in a high temperature oven and then packaged in highly automated production lines.

Beyond Bumble Bee, we’re continually looking for ways to extend our “people first” approach to make a meaningful impact. With so many people in need, we know this effort is more important than ever. We’re starting by donating more than $1 million in product to food banks in both the US and in Canada. And we will be looking for more opportunities to make a positive difference in the days to come.
