Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Whether you’re planning a date or spending the day solo, you should definitely celebrate. After all, February isn’t just for cards and candy – it’s also Heart Health Month! I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by showing some love to your ticker. If you’re up for a holiday-inspired workout, I’ve got just the one.


If I had to choose a favorite type of workout, it would probably be High Intensity Interval Training. With this training technique, you alternate between one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise and short, less intense periods of recovery.  Because of how quick and exciting they are, HIIT workouts are a great way to spice up your current cardio routine. The following workout is fast-paced, heart pumping, and tons of fun.



Work your way through each “heart” to complete one circuit and then start all over again. For the 30-second moves, use an all-out effort. For the 60-second moves, take your time and catch your breath!


By pairing intense moves with active rest, you are maximizing your time and increasing your overall fat burn. If you haven’t jumped on the HIIT bandwagon, you should. At the very least, you’ll have a blast!
