Mayo-Free Avocado Tuna Melt



Leading a healthy lifestyle can be tricky when some of your favorite recipes aren’t all that nutritious. Luckily, this Mayo-Free Avocado Tuna Melt recipe gives the same satisfaction of that classic, cheesy tuna melt with less guilt and more feel-good ingredients. Featuring Bumble Bee® Solid White Albacore Tuna and creamy avocado in place of mayo, this sandwich is the perfect lunch for any day of the week.

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Servings: 2 sandwiches

Ingredients

1 5-oz can of Bumble Bee® Solid White Albacore Tuna, drained
4 slices of whole grain bread
1 medium-sized tomato, sliced
½ of an avocado, sliced
4 leaves of lettuce, red leaf recommended
4 slices of white cheese, Havarti recommended
1 teaspoon butter
1 teaspoon of sea salt and pepper to taste


Directions

Combine tuna, avocado, salt and pepper in a medium-sized bowl. Mix everything together with a fork. On one slice of bread, layer a slice of cheese, tomatoes, tuna mixture, lettuce, and more cheese. Top with another slice of bread and spread butter on the outside of both slices. Repeat for second sandwich.

Place a large skillet on medium heat, and place sandwiches with the butter side down into the pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the bread is a nice golden brown. Flip the sandwiches and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
