Fauxshi Tuna Roll

Simple and delicious, this fauxshi tuna roll recipe is fun to try at home with the kids. Complete with cucumber, sweet pepper and Solid White Albacore Tuna in Water, everyone will love this easy sushi recipe. Add avocado for a touch of creaminess.



4 sheets of nori with 1.5″ cut off the length
1 can of Solid White Albacore in Water
1/2 cucumber, julienned
5 sweet peppers, julienned
1 1/2 cup sticky rice prepared
Tamari to taste

Bamboo sushi mat
Piece of aluminum foil larger than the sushi mat


Lay the sushi mat on top of the aluminum foil (the foil is just to prevent messes). Next, lay a sheet of nori rough side up, on the edge of the bamboo mat (you will be rolling it starting from the edge). Using your fingers evenly, place sticky rice on the nori, leaving 1/2″ from the top and bottom free of rice. In the middle of the rice, place separate rows of cucumber, sweet pepper and Solid White Albacore Tuna. Proceed to firmly roll the fauxshi (you may need to hold the loose ingredients in place as you being to roll them into the fauxshi). With a sharp knife, slice the fauxshi into 6 to 8 pieces. Serve with tamari to taste. Serve now or refrigerate for up to 2 days.

Tip: Keep a bowl of water nearby to dip your fingers in, to make spreading the sticky rice easier, without all of it just sticking to your hands.
