Tuna Turkey Bacon Melt



Enjoy an ooey gooey bacon-y tuna melt. Turkey bacon and fresh basil add flavor while provolone takes the place of your traditional American or cheddar.

Servings: Serves 1

Ingredients

1 can or pouch (5 oz) Chunk Light Tuna in Water, drained
1/2 tablespoon mayonnaise
pinch of salt
2 slices whole wheat bread
4 romaine leaves
1 slice turkey bacon, cooked
5 large fresh basil leaves
1 slice (1/2 ounce) provolone cheese
1 teaspoon olive oil


Directions

Combine tuna, mayo, and salt in a bowl and stir with a fork until evenly mixed. Place on a slice of bread, then layer, in this order, romaine, turkey bacon, basil leaves and top with provolone. Place other piece of bread on top. In a shallow pan on the stove, heat half the oil on medium and swirl around to coat a part of the pan about the size of the sandwich. Place sandwich on oil and press lightly. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until browned, then add the rest of the oil and flip sandwich, cooking that side until crisp and browned.
