The Bee Squad is Bumble Bee Foods’ amazing team of bloggers that have a special partnership with Bumble Bee for a full calendar year. They’re among the first to receive news from Bumble Bee and share brand insights with their readers, using their own unique twists. New in 2013, Bumble Bee is partnering with six Bee Squad members whose blogs center around various aspects of wellness and healthy living: Home Entertaining, Happiness + Inspiration, Food + Recipes, Parenting + Food, and Healthy Living. Brittany Male, Itty Bits of Balance

Brittany is the author and creator of the healthy living blog Itty Bits of Balance. After struggling with her weight for 20 years, she finally figured out that the secret she had been overlooking could be expressed through one word: balance. By choosing healthier options, working out in moderation, and treating herself every now and then, she has managed to reach her goal weight and has begun her career in health and fitness. Brittany holds a personal training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and is a proud member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians (ASBP). Her passion for writing, food, fitness, and faith have given her an understanding of the phrase “love what you do.” While she doesn’t claim to have it all figured out, she knows she is closer to “balance” than ever before.

 

Heather Disarro, Heather’s Dish

Heather Disarro is a native Texan, who now lives in Little Rock with her husband, Nate, son and two rambunctious dogs. She graduated from Texas Tech University in 2006. After a foray in both the restaurant and fashion industries, her passion for food, writing, photography and travel led her to begin a food- and life-based blog, Heather’s Dish, where she blogs on a daily basis. She also heads up a blog dedicated to encouraging women to see their own true beauty, FacesofBeauty.org, which is run solely from individual contributions. In her free time you can find Heather working out, playing hide-and-seek, kneading bread or hiking with her family. She is a wife, mother, storyteller, writer, hopeful crafter, and all-around completely blessed!

 

 

Ashley LeMieux, The Shine Project

Ashley LeMieux is a change activist who uses her business to help America’s at-risk youth. She inspires people around the world to live happier, more meaningful lives through her blog, The Shine Project. Ashley created a sister company to The Shine Project, Threads, in which she employs at risk youth to make fashionable bracelets so they can pay their way through college. Her life motto is: Make it happen.

 

Dorothy Reinhold, Shockingly Delicious

Dorothy Reinhold is a publisher, food writer, photographer and recipe developer at Shockingly Delicious, where she posts terrific, tried-and-true, scrumptious, “scary good” recipes with big flavors. Her blog was named a Saveur “Sites We Love,” and she’s been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Sunset magazine, Taste of Home magazine, and on Yahoo Shine. She’s also written for The Huffington Post, America Online, Foothills Magazine, and contributed a regular food column in Southern California newspapers for more than 20 years. Formerly the executive editor of a chain of Southern California newspapers with 25 years in that business, she co-leads the group Food Bloggers Los Angeles.

 

Ali Hively – The Healthy Hostess

Ali is the creator of The Healthy Hostess, a website that features healthy family-friendly recipes, entertaining and party plans, as well as tips about fitness, and life as a busy mom. Ali used her degree in early childhood education and master’s degree in curriculum and learning to teach third grade for several years and coach junior high track and field. After her daughter was born, Ali changed her career to remain at home with her daughter and focus on health and wellness. She started her own business as a healthy personal chef, nutrition and wellness consultant, group fitness instructor and personal trainer. Ali loves traveling, planning parties, running outside and spending time with family and friends.

 

Stacie Billis, One Hungry Mama

Stacie Billis is a child development expert and parenting writer with a focus on family food and nutrition. A Brooklyn-based mom of two, Stacie works with parents to help them fit healthy eating into their busy family schedules. She also blogs at One Hungry Mama where she serves up original, family-friendly recipes. Stacie is the editor of Peko Peko: Family-Friendly Japanese Recipes, a contributor to The Huffington Post and to the site of famed pediatrician Dr. Alan Greene; the food contributor for Cool Mom Picks and a two-time Babble Top Food Mom Blogger. She’s been featured in numerous publications including Every Day with Rachael Ray, Baby Center and Daily Candy Kids.
