What is your favorite part about running?
This is always such a tough question for me. I love everything about it! But, perhaps that it makes me feel alive more than anything else I do.
How did you get started?
I came in the back door to running because I wanted to race triathlons. Originally it was my least favorite of the three sports but slowly it moved its way to number one in my heart.
How many races have you completed?
Literally hundreds- everything from 5K’s to marathons and an IronMan.
How long have you been running?
What is your favorite distance to run and why?
I probably like the 10-miler and half marathon the best. The middle distances seem to allow me to combine speed with endurance in a perfect marriage.
What is your best training tip?
Build a base, first and foremost, THEN move on to speed.
What keeps you motivated?
The pure love of running. I almost never dread a run.
What advice would you give someone who is just starting on his or her fitness journey?
Take it nice and slow and learn what makes you tick. If running isn’t your jam, find something that is. That’s when you’ll stick to it!
