December is here, which means the holidays are in full swing. Many of us will be setting goals for the New Year, but we don’t have to wait it out another month. Why not end the year on a high note? Since this month tends to be pretty hectic, it’s best to keep it simple with your health and fitness plans. By setting realistic mini-goals for the next thirty-one days, you’ll set yourself up for success in 2017.
EAT THE RAINBOW
Focus on fresh, whole foods every single day. To make it easier, prep chopped fruits and veggies each weekend and you’ll be ready to go all week.
Drink up! If you aren’t a huge fan of ice water, try a twist of lemon or a sprig of mint. Switch up the flavors and you’ll want to hit your daily goal.
WORK UP A SWEAT
Tackle some sprints, lift weights, or take a stroll through the neighborhood. It all counts! Just try to be active for at least thirty minutes a day.
STRETCH IT OUT
Give yourself at least five to ten minutes after each workout to stretch and relax. Use this time as a break from the hustle and bustle of the day.
HAVE SOME FUN
Remember to enjoy yourself. There is no point in stressing if your day doesn’t go as planned. You can start fresh tomorrow.
GET YOUR REST ON
It’s easy to run yourself down this time of year, so try your best to get a full night’s sleep. Shoot for eight hours each night and limit electronics before bed.
Who’s ready to tackle this month? You’ve got this!
