Athlete Spotlight – Natalie Bernacchi

Natalie is the blogger and recipe creator behind A Fit Philosophy, a space devoted to deliciously healthy gluten-free recipes. She is on a mission to “healthify” the unhealthy, one recipe at a time and believes that healthy eating does not have to be boring! Natalie lives in the Los Angeles area with her husband and two crazy beagles, Guinness and Lucy. Her workout of choice is Primal Fitness, but she loves that there are endless options in her area. What is your favorite part about Primal Fitness?

It’s a crazy intense workout, but always SO MUCH FUN! The classes are an hour-long full body workout and the time flies by. It’s a workout where you are only using your own bodyweight or a tire. I attend Primal Fitness classes at Amenzone.


How did you get started?

About two years ago, I went to a free workout at a nearby Lululemon that was put on by Amenzone Fitness. After that workout, I was hooked!


How many Primal Classes have you taken?

A LOT! I’m honestly not sure, but I’ve definitely gone to my fair share of classes. I try to go at least twice a week.


How long have you been going to Amenzone?

Two years.


What is your favorite primal workout?

I love the tire slams! They make me feel really strong, and it’s a great after-work stress reliever to slam those tires down as hard as you can.


What is your best training tip?

Listen to your body. If you’re overdoing it, definitely take a step back and give your body the rest it needs!


What keeps you motivated?

I love group classes because my classmates can hold me accountable when I don’t show up.


What advice would you give someone who is just starting on his or her fitness journey?

Just get out there and move! Do what feels good. Living fit is a lifestyle and will take time, so try to be patient and take baby steps to living a healthier lifestyle.
