The summer heat is upon us and it is of utmost importance to stay hydrated. My beverage of choice is usually water or seltzer but not everyone enjoys drinking water. There are plenty of foods you can eat without sacrificing your waistline, and stay hydrated at the same time.
Fruits that can help keep you hydrated are:
Add some of these fruits to your dessert spread at a party. You can make a yogurt dip to go along with the fruit. I would suggest adding honey or agave nectar to some plain Greek yogurt, mix it together and you have yourself a nice little healthy dip to go along with all that delicious fruit.
Vegetables that can help keep you hydrated are:
- Raw radishes
- Raw broccoli
- Raw carrots
The next time you have a summer BBQ make sure to have crudités, that way you can make sure that you and your guests are staying hydrated especially if there are some cocktails involved. You can also make a yogurt dip to go with your vegetables. Mix plain Greek yogurt with some garlic powder, chives and an onion.
You should still plan on drinking water or another type of beverage to help you stay hydrated throughout the hot summer day.
